AJ's instructor, April, has 2 yrs experience as Vice President of New Mexico Dachshund Rescue, fostering over 100 dachshunds and owning the NMDR Mascot. That mascot also became known to everyone in NM as the NEW 2004 NEW MEXICO Lottery Mascot, LADY FIRE! Some of you have had the pleasure of learning with April during the two years she was Training Instuctor for a local pet store. April also has her B.S. in Animal Science to help you to understand how your dog learns, why he reacts the way he does, and help you learn to understand how to teach him what it is you want and expect out of your canine friend. AJ's teaches YOU how to train your dog for basic obedience on up, for a well mannered and well socialized dog using gentle methods that will make it fun for you and your dog. AJ's specializes in aggressive behavior in your companion and teaches you how to recognize the warning signs, how to divert trouble, and how to give your dog confidence. We will help teach you how to show your dog the gentle way that UGLY behavior is not acceptable no matter what. How your own actions or fears may be contributing to your dogs own aggressive behavior. FREE consultations are available. Call for an appointment today! If we cant help you to start gaining control your dog(s) fear I will give a 100% REFUND! All dogs must be at least ten weeks of age with at least a series of 3 UTD (up-to-date) vaccinations of DHPP & Rabies. There has been more than than the normal cases of parvo being seen at the vets office 9/08, this year and even in dogs UTD vaccines therefor we are suggesting that you have your dog be given a Titer test to determine their antibody levels as a further percaution. Dr. Calista is offering the test at a lower rate of $30 and if you are a client & your dog has had all their shots on time and UTD, they will than administer a booster if warrented for no addittional cost until November. Her office number is 575.525-1000. Web site: Calista Animal Hospital

BEGINNER/PUPPY- Our classes are not divided into age limits as each dog is an individual & progresses at their own rate. Rather we look to see if you are making progress towards everyone's final goal. In this class you will learn to teach your dog how to focus, sit, down, stay, wait, drop it, leave it, take it, loose leash walk and come. You will also learn to recognize various signs of body language that may be seen as aggressive to other dogs and learn how to build your dogs confidence or see that your dogs behavior is putting other dogs on guard. We will discuss things to look for when buying a dog food and various gentle training tools used for loose leash walking and how to use them.

INTERMEDIATE-This class builds on everything you learned in Beginner/Puppy adding more distractions and a few new things such as Stand, Healing, Go to your bed, ect. We keep the same techniques and start out using soft treats again until its time to wean them off of treats. We concentrate on adding distractions to all our commands to get your dogs to obey reliably.

ADVANCED- By advanced class you should be well on your way to learning how to control your dog off leash. We will play some games involving everything we have learned previously in Beg/Puppy & Intermediate. We may even use the help from our rabbit to teach your dog how to obey with large distractions. Each dog will be evaluated before being allowed into class. This is to ensure that your dog is ready for this class as it is not fair to the students if your dog can not perform the simplest of tasks. Prereq: You must have completed AJ's Beg/Puppy & Intermediate
